Saturday, July 17

We were visited today by our dear friends Paulette Rees-Denis and her husband, Jeff, with their new T@B trailer. Paulette, you will remember, is the world-famous belly dancing queen (Gypsy Caravan), who just returned from a world tour. Paulette and Jeff hosted a live belly dance show and  book-signing of my very first Tattoo Road Trip book, The Pacific Northwest, at the Fez nightclub in downtown Portland, some years ago. She and Jeff just opened a new General Store in the tiny town of Clatskanie (part way, on the 130, between Longview and Astoria). “Hey,” says Paulette. “You can’t dance forever.” They sell cool home-made stuff…  and Mary is going to make some of her kitchen  aprons for Paulette to sell in their store. Another example of how people are dealing with the battered (and I don’t mean onion rings) economy nowadays. Family-owned Small Businesses Rule!

Some T@B trailers, just like the one that Paulette and Jeff have.
